By using ClickFlare’s Conversion API for Reddit Ads, you can report conversion events from ClickFlare back to Reddit through Reddit’s Conversion API (CAPI).
This process works similarly to using server-to-server postbacks, but it’s simpler and provides better reliability and attribution accuracy.

Why should I use the Conversion API for Reddit Ads?

Due to increasing browser restrictions and privacy frameworks (such as Apple’s App Tracking Transparency), traditional client-side tracking methods have become less accurate.
Reddit’s Conversion API helps advertisers overcome these challenges by enabling server-to-server event reporting, ensuring that all conversions tracked in ClickFlare are also reflected accurately in Reddit Ads.

With the Reddit CAPI integration, you can:

  • Improve conversion accuracy and reduce data loss.

  • Enhance Reddit’s optimization algorithms for better campaign performance.

  • Maintain attribution even when users opt out of browser tracking.

What you'll need for the integration

  • An active Reddit Ads account.

  • An active ClickFlare account.

  • Your Reddit Pixel ID.

  • A Conversion Access Token (generated inside Reddit Events Manager).

Where to Find Reddit Conversion API Information

I. Pixel ID

  1. Go to your Reddit Ads Dashboard.

  2. From the left menu, navigate to Events Manager.

  3. Locate your existing Pixel or create a new one if you don’t have any.

    • To create a new pixel, click Create Pixel, name it, and save.

  4. Once created, copy your Pixel ID — you’ll need this when connecting to ClickFlare.

Important:
Reddit allows only one Pixel per ad account.

  • If you need a second Pixel, you have two options:

    1. Create a new Reddit Ad Account, or

    2. Contact Reddit Support to request an additional Pixel for the same account (availability depends on Reddit’s approval).

II. Conversion Access Token

To connect your Reddit Pixel to ClickFlare via API, you’ll need a Conversion Access Token.

Follow these steps:

  1. In Events Manager, select your Pixel.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Conversions API.

  3. Under the Set up manually section, click Generate Access Token.

  4. Copy the Access Token and store it securely — you’ll need to paste it in ClickFlare.

⚠️ Note: Access Tokens are generated at the account level, so you can reuse the same token for all your Reddit Pixels if needed.

Integrating Reddit Conversion API in ClickFlare

Follow the steps below to add your Reddit Conversion API integration:

  1. In ClickFlare, navigate from the left-side menu to Integrations → Conversion API Integrations.

  2. Click Add Integration.

  3. From the list of available integrations, select Reddit.

Step 1 — Add a new Reddit Pixel

  1. In the Reddit integration screen, click Add a new Pixel.

  2. Fill in the following details:

    • Pixel Name: Choose a recognizable name.

    • Reddit Pixel ID: Paste the Pixel ID you copied from Events Manager.

    • Access Token: Paste the Conversion Access Token you generated.

  3. Click Save.

Step 2 — Map ClickFlare Events to Reddit Events

Specify which ClickFlare-tracked conversion events you want to send to Reddit Ads.

Under Event Type Mapping, match your ClickFlare events to Reddit’s standard or custom event types.

Some standard Reddit events include:

  • Purchase

  • Signup

  • Lead

  • ViewContent

  • AddToCart

Step 3 — Configure Event Data and Add Additional Parameters

After mapping your conversion events, define which data fields you want ClickFlare to send to Reddit along with each event.

In the Event Data Configuration section, you’ll notice several parameters already mapped and grayed out — these are default fields that ClickFlare automatically includes in the Reddit Conversion API payload (such as Click ID, IP address, User Agent, Value, Currency, Country, and Region).

You can further enrich the event data by adding additional parameters (match keys) supported by Reddit, such as:

  • Email (hashed using SHA-256)

  • Phone number (hashed)

ClickFlare automatically hashes all sensitive data before sending it to Reddit CAPI, ensuring full privacy compliance.

Adding these identifiers helps Reddit more accurately match conversions to users and optimize your campaigns for higher ROAS and more efficient ad delivery.

📝 Note:
Some parameters are required for Reddit attribution and cannot be modified or removed.

When using the Reddit traffic source template, ClickFlare automatically includes all essential identifiers in the URL, so you only need to add optional fields if you want to provide additional data for optimization.

Step 4 — Save and Verify the Integration

Once you’ve finished your configuration:

  1. Click Save.

  2. The Reddit integration will appear under your Conversion API Integrations list.

  3. To verify that your setup is working:

    • Trigger a test conversion in ClickFlare.

    • Go to your Reddit Events Manager → Test Events tab.

    • Check if the event appears successfully.

Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Cause Solution
No events received Invalid Access Token or Pixel ID Regenerate a new Access Token and verify your Pixel ID.
Events showing as “Invalid Click ID” Missing or incorrect rdt_cid mapping Ensure rdt_cid is passed through your campaign URL and mapped correctly in ClickFlare.

A1: No. When using ClickFlare’s Reddit Conversion API integration, conversions are sent server-to-server directly from ClickFlare.
However, you can still keep the browser pixel active if you want to compare event matching or have redundant tracking.

Q2: Can I have multiple Reddit Pixels in the same ad account?

A2: No. Reddit currently allows only one Pixel per ad account.
If you need multiple Pixels, you’ll need to either create a new ad account or contact Reddit Support to request additional Pixels for the same account.
