ClickFlare tracks various actions executed by visitors, referred to as events.
Event Types in ClickFlare
- A Visit is recorded when a visitor clicks your campaign URL from an advertisement. It is counted when the campaign URL successfully passes the visit data to ClickFlare.
- A Click is when a visitor clicks on a Call-to-Action (CTA) link or button placed on a landing page.
- A Conversion is a successful action relayed from an offer. The conversion is recorded when a postback URL or a tracking pixel successfully passes correct information about a conversion from an affiliate network back to ClickFlare.
- A Postback is recorded when ClickFlare sends a conversion event back to the traffic source. This can happen through an S2S postback URL or a CAPI integration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Got questions? Find the answers below:
Q1: When is "Visit Recorded" captured?
"Visit Recorded" happens right after the user clicks the ad. As they get redirected through ClickFlare to the landing page, ClickFlare logs the visit and assigns a unique click ID at this point.
Q2: What is the difference between "Click Recorded" and "Conversion Recorded"?
"Click Recorded" tracks when a user clicks from your landing page to the offer page (tracked by ClickFlare). "Conversion Recorded" logs when the user completes a desired action on the offer page, reported back via a postback URL.
Q3: Why is there no redirect through ClickFlare during the conversion step?
Conversions are tracked server-side using postback URLs or conversion pixels, meaning the user does not pass through ClickFlare again. Instead, the affiliate network or offer sends the conversion data back to ClickFlare.
Q4: How does "Postback Sent" work in this flow?
After ClickFlare records a conversion, it can send a postback to the traffic source to inform them about the conversion event, enabling accurate campaign optimization and cost attribution.
Q5: Can I customize which conversions are sent back in the postback?
Yes, ClickFlare offers an Event Filter feature that lets you define conditions to control which conversions get fired back to the traffic source.
